A Piece of the Past
If you haven't noticed most of the OPM songs today are revived like you can just imagine yourself watching MTV's Backtrax but with a fresher new artists. It eventually flashed back some college memoirs which is quite funny though but meaningful. Here it goes...
The last bell striked fifteen minutes ago which concluded my tardiness five times in a row, however it wasn't the time that bothered me but the half-done assignment that was due for that day and the still unfinished experiment in my laboratory. I took race with my twenty minutes remaining time as I walked hurriedly to the entrance ignoring the security guards who were busy checking student baggage for suspicious belongings. As what every Atenean does, I go straight to the chapel and ask for guidance that this day will be as meaningful as yesterday. After a minute of contemplating I passed by my organization’s bulletin board to check out the latest postings and unfortunately lots of letters addressed to the President were pined. I took them all for me to read so that I could comply immediately on the matter. I was along the Haggerty pathway when somebody called somewhere from the soccer field. I looked at my time, now fifteen minutes more to go yet still half-way to room E204. It was my classmate who has just got into the soccer varsity team practicing on the field with his team mates as early as six thirty that caught my attention. He asked me to pass his assignment because he could not make to class today. I was delighted for such opportunity to copy and finally finish my assignment, and so I paced faster than normal towards the engineering lobby.
The lengthy homework consumed much of my remaining time so I was in dilemma on whether I should come inside or rather be absent for the whole period. As I went closer to the door I noticed that there was no one speaking in front but there were things on the desk which I assume to be my professor’s. One of my classmates inside yelled saying “ agpas sulod kay si mam naa oa sa CR!” so I slipped inside and put the assignments on the desk. Just then I realize that if I haven’t come inside I would have sacrificed not only my homework but also my classmate’s who is still on the soccer field. Tsk! Tsk! Tsk! Just as I sit as the last far left seat at the last row the professor came in and after a while she dismissed us. Just in the nick of time!
Is it matter of chance or a matter of luck? The chances are made freely for us to grasp whatever we desire in the proper moment in time, but have we had the gift of luck to grasp it? Everybody might as well ask this popular question. Still the uncertainties never ceases in its role as turning point to something greater or lower. No matter how this can be perceived, the true essence of survival is simply to capture the zeal to survive.
Now, I just love this article!
