Tayo ay tuldok lang

Cebu. 10.15.13 8:12 AM MLA. It was a fine weather when I was on my home from an over night shift. In a few seconds I thought a plane was about to crash when I saw the people staring upward while running inside their houses, but when I knew a magnitude 7.2 hit Bohol I tried to focus going home and praying that everything should be fine way back home. A few minutes later everyone was calm but some aftershocks went on shaking the grounds, until 3 more weeks we still feel some tremors. The last year's quake was most agonizing because I was 8 months pregnant and I have to do the evacuation 2 times that day... The funny part was when everybody has already gotten out of the building except for the pregnant woman who was struggling her way down at the fire exit, lol! that was the effect of adrenalin rush for normal people. In the afternoon a Tsunami false alert created a panic in the whole downtown, I was in the 5th floor while watching the people scrambling around like a disturbed col

Chain Let’s sing a song A song that makes us sing Sing for life Life that makes us live Live to strive Strive to thrive Thrive from problems Problems to be challenged Challenge to success Success to be happy Happy forever Forever and ever...  During my corny days, I write poems like this... lol! It's raining hard lately, I think the Philippines will be wiped out in months from the archipelago if super mega duper storms keep hitting the country. It's 8:36 A MNL, I look outside the window and the row of houses stood still underneath the cold gray clouds, never ending pouring its wrath on the grounds. I hear the rooftops singing "tip tap" in a crooked tune of raindrops....

Repost: A woman's worth

Thanks Ellay for this very inspiring story (Author: unknown) hahaha!, I love it, specially the last part ... I miss you mang...   ~ mash ~ In a brief conversation, a man asked a woman he was pursuing the question:   “What kind of man are you looking for?” She sat quietly for a moment before looking him in the eye & asking, ‘Do you really want to know?’ Reluctantly, he said,”Yes.” She began to expound… “As a woman in this day & age, I am in a position to ask a man what can you do for me that I can’t do for myself? I pay my own bills. I take care of my household without the help of any man…or woman for that matter. I am in the position to ask, ‘What can you bring to the table?’” The man looked at her. Clearly he thought that she was referring to money. She quickly corrected his thought & stated, “I am not referring to money. I need something more. I need a man who is striving for excellence in every aspect of life.” He sat back in his chair,

The lessons we keep from ourselves are the lessons that kills us the most. It kills us knowing that the time we spent to cherish a special moment with a special someone is destined to be wasted at the end of every line. Life is indeed an irony, you see, we look for that thing that could make us happy. It's human nature, we look for the things that aren't there, thus, it is what dreams are made of; the things that we think could make up our life cycle. Sometimes I rather don't dream at all and life might be easier I suppose, but no. When we were engaged in school our mentors often ask us "what do you want to become when you grow up?" and every year I answered differently, one time I want to be a ballerina because I've seen Barbie and the Nut cracker, hehehe! I asked my teacher " Why did you become a teacher?", I don't remember her answer anymore. When I finished high school I never even thought of an exact path I want to become because I was a fre

6.23.13. Cotcot Lilo-an Cebu. As an official "Cebuana", I feel the responsibility of the preservation of the culture and protecting the mother nature for "she" is where I live now. It was my first time to participate in a mangrove tree growing activity where I have to plant the little ones in a sandy muddy shore. I've seen a  lot of hermit crabs, like duh!yeah I feel so ignorant, what does a city girl know about aquatic creatures, I've only seen them on National Geographic. But yeah, I enjoyed watching them, ehehehe! The project was initiated by the Coastal Conservation Foundation and Education Inc. and we are very happy to be part of such activity... and me , hoping to have a green and fresh environment for my child in the near future. ^__^ Oh yeah, that's me... Right there below, haha! Murag true. I don't have a green thumb but I was praying they all will survive the tide. In the next 10 years, the mangrov

The Liberation of a Feminist

I almost want to become one of the male kind. I read tales of knights in shinning armor to rescue the damsel in distress, quests of Kings and Princes, and of course who doesn't know Zeus? It seems that they are the master of the world. Then... when I look at the mirror on my birthday suit, the aforementioned ambition is a hopeless case. hahaha! Not unless a genie would grant my wish, lol! The image of "man" even in religious aspect has always been the powerful and the wise. I don't want to be blasphemous but in my insecure state of gender equality, I definitely object. One time I talked to the museum curator, I presented him a study of my piece for our next exhibit and guess what he said - I bet you'll be wearing a new school uniform the next day.. haha! The problem with school exhibit rules is it always violates the artist's freedom, like duh, I don't wanna elaborate the boredom of essential manners and right conduct under Jesuit premise. As a Surrealis

Summer Climb 2k13

Image
Cebu, Philippines. 4.21.13. Climb at Mt. Kan-Irag - as being wished for, I've always wanted to be part of this activity. River trekking to Guadalupe Shrine in CDO was my last outdoor gig 5 years ago with the XU College of Engg. I was so happy when I received an email confirmation from Accenture Outdoor Club 3 days before the climb. Here are some pictures taken my colleagues Sly, Syndy and Ervie. It was an all time summer experience. Akala ko nga di na ako makapag break, salamat Lord. hehe! I do not know exactly how many kilometers we have walked that day but all I know is that we started walking around 8 am uphill from Talamban until 2 PM exiting at Doce Pares Lahug, Cebu. The first hour was a fine walk under the fair weather, and you could hear everyone chit chatting about how excited they were to see the waterfalls and the river. Uhmm..well, akala nyo lang yon..haha! Honestly I have no idea where to go, just follow the pack, lol! I started to smell the grasses and when I l

7 Funny Deadly Sins

4 days of day off entitlement went down to 2... sigh T_T. But no regrets, coz finally I had to go on overtime and it's been a while since I last did that... Money money money!! hahaha!  The Oslob summer plan was cancelled that's why I have to work instead. I think what I need to master is how to manage my vacays without any priorities compromised, and when I say priorities it's those non negotiable conditions , ikr T_T .... Yesterday I had to meet up college buddies and I drop by NBS to get something to read on my day off and the first book I saw on the first shelf is this - Ang Paboritong Libro Ni Hudas by Bob Ong. I know it will be a funny reading experience so I bought one, it's not that expensive though..  I have read some of his books like ABNKKBSNPLAko, Alamat ng Gubat and Stainless Longganisa, I don't really buy books, I just borrow lol!!  I guess this time I'm being generous to myself. Reward your self naman for the endless OTTYs rofl! I lov

Cebu Heritage Walk

A ccenture Outdoor Club. 2.17.2013, this date really was not meant for me and my friend Cindy coz'  we were the lucky chance volunteers for the Cebu Heritage Walk... hahaha! Though our registration for the event wasn't confirmed there's no stopping us from joining the trip.. love the confidence level. lol! Along with us were Sly and Rea who are AOC official members, in short legit..hahaha! The last time I had my field trip was during our senior year, parang time travel lang. .ahaha! =))  To give you the highlights, first if all, was the very witty and smart tour coordinator Lester.. I love his energy, he was also there at the ARC run at the Plaza run and one of the leads at the Sinulog ACN beat where I first met him... The itinerary goes from our departure point at ebloc2 IT Park to Taoist Temple @ Lahug Cebu. Yeah, I know the place isn't that foreign  to me anymore because it's just like 5 minutes away from my apartment.. so when I get bored, I guess you k

Sinulog 2013 Accenture Beat with the UP pep squad

Image
Sinulog 2013. yeah yeah... I know it's a bit late post this blog... I lost this picture somewhere in my drive and I just found it today... I just wanna share my experience with the UP pep squad as they danced the beat with the 500 Accenture employees. It's an honor to meet these awesome talents, I mean ... deyym they sure rock! I had to create a collage as a remembrance of the fun and excitement we had last January 2013. I've met the stunner Nesza Salvador who is very charming up there when she does her stunts. I thought I got lesbo for a sec. hahaah! I'm just kidding... Well, apart from dancing, I've also experience the fluvial parade or movie actors and actresses. I saw my Kapuso star favorite Rhian Ramos and the the ABS-CBN Stars - Coco Martin, Erich, Kim Chiu, Sir Chief Papa Cheng and Xian Lim.. They sure all look beautiful outside the screen ... Wew! Experience Sinulog festival here in Cebu Philippines.  Every year it gets better .

Of love and friendship

I met a girl during training when I was their mentor, and it was like we were sisters back then. She said I can be brutally honest  to her and we love to chika galore talking about anything under the sun, except for non life-impacting events and people, duh! She's a sister, a good daughter and a total hot beautiful mama, what say you? haha! ~_^ Cindy  Feb 14, I bet is the most romantic day of the year.... Romantic for the lovers and a day to celebrate a heartfelt moment with your family, friends and to the one you admire...  I wanna say thank you Cindy for a very cute sweet lovely lollipop made of doughnut! Happy Valentines Day ! ^_^ Je t'aime Te amo I love you Watashi wa anata o aistomasu Ich liebe dich Iniibig kita Gua ay di  Happy Hearts Day to all Earthlings

Quality is ....

A definition of  what a quality analyst could mean anybody who is a fault finder. I know right? Even when I was still an agent I never liked quality, hate them in fact. I also love to interrogate my team leads about anything I don't know just out of curiosity's sake. haha! Yes I do care about my scorecard, but what I care most is working my way into learning something with what I do everyday, I'd say I am great at experimenting things, I love the lab. Scorecard is just a table of number for hall of fame'rs. But.... this time around it's different. It's like bracing a firewall of the ever becoming perfect corporate system. Like duh! take note - becoming perfect.. It's been a month since I was hired to be one of the QAs. The first 2 weeks really suck, really! I don't do admin task, I don't know how powerful MS Excel is and the charts look so boring. How come they don't color the thing orange? Because they wanna make it look professional, and or

W hen I was about 5 I saw a butterfly in the garden, then I went inside my room to get my watercolor and started to draw that flying creature dancing with the flowers. It was a purple butterfly. I was hoping it was orange, but no, orange wasn't my favorite yet back then. During high school I had this dream of having my own exhibit. Well, funny yes, very dreamy, but I find it interesting. When I joined Circulo de Arte, an Art Club in the University, I finally had a chance to participate in an art exhibition held during the Xavier days. It's unfair for the freshmen to be the observers yet we were part of the committee to make errands, like duh, i would have guessed that was some sort of initiation. Waahhaa! At least half of my dream came true ~_^ plus the fact that I spent more time at the museum was something I could brag about.          So, this is it! My first Charcoal. It's not very attractive compared to the professional works, but I was hoping I wa
