Bangsamoro: The Moro Homeland
In the existence of diversity,
we cannot deny the fact of idealism that separates each culture from one
another. The Philippines for one is a multi-cultured archipelago enriched with religious
beliefs and customs, and that hasn’t changed as far as history can remember. There
is however one speck in the history that is worth remembering by our fellow
countrymen - the undying peace talk between the Philippine Government and the
Moro Islamic Liberation Front.
Liberation in its political
context is over rated by socio-economic interest, the oppressed, and the hungry
for power, thereby creating conflict that leads to upholding of armed forces
causing chaos. The peace talk in Mindanao depicts the controversy of the
stronghold of the Moro people protecting their homeland. The evolution of this
controversy is basically rooted upon the heart of the Islam community who
became the minorities of the region after nurturing the land for how many
centuries. The preservation of the ancestral domain is the main reason why we are
dealing with these peace pacts, cease-fire agreement and many more by laws that
this subject has been into. It has brought to everyone’s attention the
rebellion and terrosrism because of the rise of the autonomous Mindanao, thus,
creating a dilemma of the countless innocent civilians who became victims of
this peace process. The independent state of the Bangsamoro “ The Moro Homeland”, is the key to a lasting peace of
the disturbed land. Apart from the political discrimination, the lumad indigenous people of the
Bangsamoro are protecting a piece of heritage that was passed on from
generations, and until today they are fighting for that piece that should
remain within the boundaries of Bangsamoro domain- their ancestral homeland. For
whatever reason why it took so long for the Philippine government to appease
this war between political points of view, the Philippine government leaders
are doing their best to put everything to its proper place and we all know that
everything is done for the best of the Filipino people.

I may not be a political analyst
nor do I belong to an Islamic social orientation, but there is only one reason
why I am writing a constructive article pertaining peace talk in Mindanao, and
is because we only need respect to understand what this is all about. It is
more complicated than what we think it is and it would take to become a scholar
to understand every parts of it, but all we need is acceptance and love to one
another, regardless of one’s political, religious, and social orientation. In
this way we can achieve good governance for the common good.
